Acute and Inpatient Rehabilitation Physical Therapist PRN

Join the Centralized PRN Pool for an exciting chance to work at all 4 MedStar Health Hospitals, providing rehabilitation services to patients in acute care settings. Weekend coverage is required.

As a Physical Therapist at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, you will deliver comprehensive physical therapy services that include detailed screening and evaluation, personalized treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment and revision, patient re-evaluation, discharge planning, and meticulous documentation.

Your Role :

Provide thorough evaluation services by reviewing pertinent historical information and performing specific assessments to determine recommendations and document results. Communicate evaluation findings and treatment plans clearly to patients and their families, involving them in goal-setting.

Demonstrate proficiency in executing treatment protocols tailored to individual patient needs and the changing healthcare landscape. Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals and promptly recognize and document any changes in the patient’s condition that may require a modification of the care plan.

Ensure appropriate discharge planning and manage follow-up care efficiently. Accurately document all aspects of patient care, capturing initial evaluations, daily encounter notes, progress summaries, and discharge evaluations, maintaining clarity of the patient's care journey.

Exhibit excellent time management skills and meet productivity expectations while maintaining an organized schedule. Show a commitment to providing seamless patient access to care through adaptability and an empathetic approach in a patient-centered environment.

Proactively pursue continuing education to enhance professional growth and support competency for yourself and the organization. Mentor and orient new staff, students, volunteers, and technicians as needed.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.

Current licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and / or Virginia as required for your specific location.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

This position offers a competitive hiring rate of USD $55.00 per hour.
