Structural Steel Project Manager
A respected steel erector is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial steel projects from award through completion. This role is ideal for a detail-driven leader who understands steel construction, communicates well with clients and field teams, and delivers projects safely, on time, and on budget.
As a Project Manager, you will oversee planning, scheduling, costs, subcontractors, and field coordination while working closely with clients, engineers, and fabrication partners. If you excel at managing priorities, solving challenges, and driving successful project outcomes, this is a great opportunity to join a strong team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage structural steel projects from contract to close-out
Maintain schedules, budgets, and cost reports
Coordinate with field leaders, engineers, and fabrication shops
Lead project meetings and maintain client communication
Review drawings, submittals, RFIs & change orders
Monitor progress, site logistics, safety, and quality
Work with vendors & subcontractors and review pricing
Support project close-out and documentation
Qualifications
5+ years managing structural steel projects
Strong understanding of steel erection & fabrication
Ability to read drawings, specs, and contracts
Skilled in scheduling, cost control & change management
Strong communication, organization & leadership skills
Proficient with construction and project software
Preferred
Experience with commercial / industrial steel work
Familiarity with AISC standards
Background with a steel erector or fabricator
Compensation & Benefits
$85,000 – $100,000 DOE + bonus potential
