Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med / Surg RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1.5 years of experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit

Patient population includes medicine, colorectal surgery, urology surgery, plastic surgery, orthopedic reconstruction, bariatric surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic spine surgery

Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1 : 4 to 1 : 5

Night shift position with 12-hour shifts (19 : 00 – 7 : 30)

Every other weekend required

Floating required between Medical Surgical units (including units 3100 and 2100) within the hospital and potentially to affiliate hospitals

Uses EPIC charting system and experience is highly preferred for certain units

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Must not request more than 7 days of RTO during a 13-week contract

No RTO allowed during the first week of orientation

Navy blue scrubs required

Free employee parking available in designated areas

Face fit testing required; facial hair must allow proper mask fitting

Travelers may remain on assignment for up to 18 consecutive months, with a mandatory three-month break after

Modules must be completed prior to start as part of onboarding

Requirements

Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration (pending licenses accepted)

Minimum 1.5 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience required

Current BLS certification required

EPIC charting experience preferred

Two supervisory references from the past two years required

No candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility accepted

Permanent employees at the facility must wait one year before returning as a traveler
