Assistant Project Manager And Estimator
Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Project Manager and Estimator, where you will play a crucial role in managing project logistics, coordinating with subcontractors, and overseeing document control. This position offers tremendous upward mobility and the opportunity to gain diverse project experience across multiple sectors including Public, Multifamily, Transit, Commercial, Healthcare, Industrial, and Warehouse projects.
Responsibilities include :
- Review invitation packages and maintain subcontractor / vendor bidding lists.
- Send bid packages to prospective subcontractors / vendors and follow up on proposals.
- Administer permits, letters of intent, and review vendor invoices.
- Coordinate and manage site logistics plans and safety manual submissions.
- Create and manage submittal logs, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
- Track and update the status of submittals in the client management system.
- Collect and manage lead times for subcontractor materials / equipment to provide accurate schedules.
- Administer the Request for Information (RFI) process.
- Update and maintain project CPM schedules under supervision.
- Organize and attend project and subcontractor coordination meetings, documenting minutes and attendance.
- Conduct quality control activities including inspections, testing, and commissioning.
- Maintain document control with current electronic and paper drawings and specifications.
- Manage owner payments, subcontractor payments, and vendor invoices.
- Oversee the closeout documents process.
Essential Skills :
3-5 years of construction experience.Experience in Public Sector or Government Projects.Understanding of RFIs and Change Orders.Degree in Architecture / Engineering disciplines.Proficiency in Bluebeam, Construction Management, and Project Coordination.Additional Skills & Qualifications :
Experience in estimating and doing takeoffs.Understanding of management software and Microsoft Office.Strong organizational, flexible, and detail-oriented skills.Ability to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines.Effective written and oral communication skills.Self-motivated, eager to learn, and a good team player.Work Environment :
The role requires working from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM with occasional visits to project sites. The current project involves a bus garage for Newark Transit.
Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
