American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position in California, requiring a CA license, recent independent PICU experience, and flexibility for variable shifts.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a high-acuity Pediatric ICU within a hospital settingCare for critically ill children with conditions including injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi-system failure, poisonings, near drowning, meningitis, post-op cardiac and neurosurgical casesPatient ratios are typically 1 : 1 to 1 : 2Float as needed within the hospital to units including CVPICU and NICUVariable 12-hour shifts with flexibility to work days or nights; must be available for weekends and holidays, including holiday evesNo on-call requirementsUses Epic for chartingExperience with ventilators, multiple monitors, CVP, and EKG is requiredResponsible for caring for pediatric patients with diverse, critical conditions in a Level 1 trauma, Magnet, and teaching hospital environmentMust work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays; no Christmas RTO allowedRTO limited to 6 days; block scheduling is not accommodatedOne full weekend off is provided per 4-week schedule periodAny solid color scrubs may be worn except blackFirst-time travelers are welcome with strong PICU experienceTravelers may float to sister units within the hospital, including satellite NICU locations with IRS-standard mileage reimbursement for offsite NICU coveragePermanent staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a travelerFree traveler parking is provided\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license in hand or verifiable ETA for licensureMinimum 2 years of recent independent PICU experience required, with experience within the last yearCurrent BLS and PALS certifications requiredExperience with ventilators, CVP, EKG, and multiple monitorsFlu vaccination required prior to startMust be willing to float to CVPICU and NICU within scopeNo local candidates within a 50-mile radius are considered\n Benefits\n
