Job Title : Sub-Assembly Technician

Job Description

As a Sub-Assembly Technician, your work will be integral to assembling and integrating sub-systems and components for our autonomous equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, electronics, and troubleshooting in a high-tech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and integrate sub-systems and components according to engineering specifications and production guidelines.
  • Perform detailed inspections and testing of sub-assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and functional requirements.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete assembly tasks.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to address assembly issues and implement improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, including any deviations or issues encountered.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Contribute to the development of assembly procedures and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation for assembly processes.
  • Strip, crimp, and assemble wire harnesses to engineering drawings.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of recent experience with building large sub-assemblies and / or final assemblies.
  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment for assembly, testing, and troubleshooting electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with the proper use of Digital Multi Meters (DMM).
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to frequently changing and / or ambiguous directions.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Military mechanical experience, especially from the US Navy.
  • Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or sensor technologies.
  • IPC-620 certification or soldering experience.
  • Confident communicator and problem-solver, ability to work within ambiguity and confidence to seek answers as needed.
  • Experience in early stages of a start-up company.
  • Hobbies include working on mechanical projects in spare time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

    Work Environment

    Work in a climate-controlled assembly shop and corporate headquarters. The culture is friendly, driven, and collaborative, with a focus on teamwork and positivity. The environment is cutting-edge, urban, and modern, supporting both commercial and Department of Defense customers. Openings are available on the 2nd shift from 2 : 30 pm to 11 : 30 pm.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kyle, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00 / hr.
