C-Store Clerk

A Day in the Life : As a C-Store Clerk you will have day to day responsibilities keeping our store organized, clean, well-stocked, and ready to serve our customers. You will be asked to provide friendly and helpful service to our customers as you interact with them through sales transactions and receiving payment. You will be required to assist with store maintenance, stocking inventory, customer sales, displays, food service items, and store housekeeping. Basic computer skills are needed as we work with our Triple E computer system and you may have to troubleshoot from time to time. Customer service is the upmost importance and you are expected to greet in a friendly manner, answer questions and phone calls, assist in purchasing process as needed, keep exceptional personal hygiene, display the Farmers Cooperative logo at all times, and ensure the store and store equipment is kept clean and orderly. You will be trained to have knowledge on all health codes, fire regulations, proper food handling, and other state and federal labor laws to ensure store compliance. You may be asked to be flexible with your schedule as we work to fill staff during store hours. You will be expected to work hard, and you will have to work more hours during busy seasons. Safety is always our number one priority and we do everything we can to ensure the safest work environments for our employees, therefore you will be required and expected to adhere to all safety rules and regulations and complete necessary training. This is an extremely skilled position requiring an individual that takes pride in their work, pays attention to details, and upholds Farmers Cooperative policies, mission, and core values. The Cooperative operates under the all hands-on deck philosophy when it comes to getting things done. Therefore, employees are required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.

What Youll Need To Do This Job :

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Store experience preferred
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent customer service skills
• The ability to think clearly and problem solve
• Basic mathematical skills
• Handle money, accept payments, and make change
• The desire to be involved in agriculture and work for a cooperative
• Physically, this position requires you to stand, stoop, bend, lift, and sit on a regular basis
• This position requires you to occasionally lift at least 35 pounds
• You will be exposed to cleaning products and occasionally outdoor elements and temperatures
• Flexibility with your schedule as you will assist in ensuring shifts are covered for store hours
