Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Night shift, 4x12-hour (18 : 45 - 07 : 15) Job Description The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical Oncology unit will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with general medical-surgical diagnoses primarily related to oncology. The role encompasses essential tasks such as administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, monitoring vital signs, managing patients' IV therapy, and supporting patient recovery. Responsibilities Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy (IV, PO, or injection). Provide care for patients with diagnoses such as AKI, sepsis, cancer, septic shock, and other medical-surgical conditions. Perform blood product administration and manage peripheral lines. Utilize isolation precautions and adhere to safety protocols in patient care. Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, providing emergency response as needed. Engage in interdisciplinary support with teams such as IV, PT, respiratory services, and social services. Work closely with nursing colleagues, aiding in the overall patient care objectives of the unit. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical experience required; Oncology experience preferred or willingness to obtain ONC certification. Current BLS certification is required. Experience in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and managing ports preferred.
