American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring a WA or compact RN license and strong ED skill sets.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department with 18 bedsStaffing ratio is 1 : 4 with approximately 65 patient visits per dayPatient diagnoses include general ED, psychiatric, chemical dependency, involuntary and voluntary status, and medical psych, with 10% pediatric populationSpecial procedures performed include breathing treatments, chest tube care, CPAP / BiPAP, RSI, trach care, vents, blood product administration, cardioversion, EKGs, drains, feeding tubes, and central line managementShift schedule is night shift, 3x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 00), with every other weekend on-callFloating required to Edmonds and other Swedish campuses as neededEMR system is Epic; Pyxis medication system is usedRole involves managing varied emergency and psychiatric cases including pediatric patientsProfessional scrubs of any color requiredFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyNo self-scheduling permitted for travelers; facility schedule requirements must be metAll RTO must be submitted in advance and additional RTO may extend the contractModules must be completed pre-start and annually, with average completion time of 16 hoursTravelers are expected to float within the system and refusal to do so may result in termination of assignmentReliable transportation required for floating between campusesCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact state RN license requiredMinimum 2 years recent ED experience with required skill sets; 3 years preferred for certain offersCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALSExperience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and managementIV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, and starting IVs requiredProficiency with ventilated patients, CPAP / BiPAP, and procedural sedationTriage experience requiredEpic EMR experience preferredMust provide proof of address and two supervisory references covering one year within the last three yearsAll previous perm employees of Providence-affiliated facilities must be separated for at least 3 months before being eligible\n Benefits\n
