SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKER
OPENING DATE : 02 / 14 / 2023
CLOSING DATE : Open until filled
SALARY : $15.00 hourly (end-of-season incentive pay, plus rehires get a .25 increase each year)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Riverton City is seeking Seasonal Maintenance Workers in the Parks, Water, and Streets divisions in the Public Works Department.
Flexible schedules could be 20 hours a week for up to 12 months or 40 hours a week for up to 5.5 months. Will work a schedule around school classes.
These positions perform maintenance pertaining to City parks, park strips, the cemetery, recreation facilities, and City properties.
This position is non-benefited.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :

- Routine maintenance and cleaning of park facilities
- Routine cleaning of park restrooms
- Repair and maintenance of equipment
- Seasonal repairs and maintenance of irrigation systems
- Seasonal snow plowing and snow shoveling
- Seasonal weed abatement on city properties
- Seasonal assistants with water flushing
- Any other responsibilities that would be required to maintain effective operations of the department
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License with a good driving record
- Must be at least 18 years of age
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees
- Ability to perform manual labor
- Ability and willingness to work outside in various environmental exposures
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test, a background screen, provide a current copy of their driving record, pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) able to lift up to 50 lbs.
