Job Title : Supervising Attorney - Immigration
Job Overview :
A San Antonio-based law firm dedicated exclusively to immigration matters is seeking a seasoned attorney to step into a supervisory role within its in-office legal team. This opportunity is ideal for an immigration litigator who thrives in a leadership capacity, blending high-level casework with team development. The role offers the chance to influence case strategy, oversee legal staff, and represent clients in complex immigration proceedings. This is a full-time, in-person position located in San Antonio, TX.
Duties :
- Lead a docket of active immigration matters, including representation in immigration court and before USCIS
- Supervise and provide strategic guidance to junior attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff
- Review filings for legal accuracy and compliance with firm protocols
- Develop litigation and filing strategies for high-stakes and complex immigration matters
- Conduct routine team meetings, performance check-ins, and mentorship sessions
- Ensure consistent and timely client communication throughout case progression
- Collaborate with firm leadership on process improvements and workflow optimization
- Support ongoing staff development and training initiatives
Requirements :
Active license to practice law in Texas or immediate eligibility for admissionExtensive knowledge of immigration law, particularly removal defense, family petitions, and employment-based visasProven courtroom experience in immigration court proceedingsPrior experience managing or mentoring legal professionalsStrong command of legal research, writing, and oral advocacyAbility to build strong rapport with clients and staffSpanish language proficiency preferred, though not requiredEducation :
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolCertifications :
Admission to the Bar in Texas (or eligible for prompt admission)Skills :
