American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a CA license for a Transfer Center Clinical position requiring critical care assessment skills and strong computer proficiency.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Transfer Center Clinical unit within an acute care environmentNo hands-on patient care is involved in this roleAverage caseload is 10-15 transfer cases per shift, involving hospitals across multiple regionsResponsibilities include facilitating transfers, coordinating with MDs and specialists, and managing bed requestsUtilizes Cerner EMR, TeleTracking bed management system, TigerConnect for communication, and various Google applications12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requiredNo floating between unitsMust be available to work holidays as neededScrubs of any color are allowed as long as attire is clean and professional; jeans without rips and hoodies with no large writing are also acceptablePrimary responsibility is to facilitate patient transfers and communicate effectively with multiple healthcare teamsTraining includes one day of general orientation and three to five days in the department, which may take place on any shiftTeam environment with supervisor and leadership support availableAverage caseload requires the ability to multitask and work with high volume efficientlyRTO (requested time off) must be kept very limited and is rarely accommodatedFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyFree onsite parking and complimentary EV charging for four hours are providedMust comply with professional reference requirements including supervisor and peer references with dates of employmentFree onsite café closes at 2 : 30pm\n \n Requirements\n
Active and unencumbered CA RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years' experience in ICU, ED, or transfer center and acute care requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredPrior experience with Cerner or Epic EMR requiredStrong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and multitasking abilities are essentialMust be professional, possess excellent customer service skills, and be adept at learning new computer applications quicklyMust pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (or provide documentation of passing within the last year) prior to startCandidates must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit facility in the past year (PRN through outside firms permitted)Driver's license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
