Overview
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Vice President of Network Services is a strategic executive responsible for the vision, design, implementation, and performance of the company\'s network infrastructure. This role ensures highly secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity that drives customer success, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth. As a key member of the leadership team, this executive balances innovation with operational rigor, leveraging automation and data-driven insights to optimize network performance while delivering measurable EBITDA impact. The VP partners across Engineering, Operations, Security, and Customer Experience functions while managing critical vendor and carrier relationships to deliver world-class network services. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Network Vision & Scalable Architecture : Architect a future-ready network using a top-down, business-needs-first model. Develop and execute a comprehensive network strategy encompassing WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, and multi-cloud environments, ensuring adaptability to future requirements and market trends.
- Lead the design and implementation of modern network architectures embracing software-defined principles (SD-WAN, SASE, CNAPP) for end-to-end security and cloud-native applications.
- Develop robust strategies for securing and segmenting IoT deployments with zero-trust principles and seamless connectivity across remote users, multi-cloud services, and connected devices.
- Leverage automation for architectural evolution by integrating IaC and network virtualization to build modular, scalable components with minimal friction and consistent deployment across locations.
- Drive continuous network optimization through capacity planning and analytics to address bottlenecks and guide architecture investments.
- Embed resilience and high availability in network design with redundancy, failover, and self-healing capabilities for high performance under load.
- Operations & Service Delivery : Establish and govern NOC strategy with automation-first principles for proactive monitoring and rapid, self-healing incident resolution.
- Champion automation across monitoring, configuration management, and provisioning workflows to minimize manual intervention and accelerate service deployment.
- Establish and track operational KPIs (e.g., MTTR, service availability / uptime, customer-perceived performance) that impact the customer experience.
- Security & Risk Management : Collaborate with CISO, Information Security, and Compliance to implement robust network security controls and regulatory compliance; design regular redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Maintain a security-first mindset across all network design and operations.
- Strategic Vendor & Carrier Partnerships : Elevate vendor relationships to strategic partnerships with key carriers and cloud providers; negotiate outcome-based contracts and flexible SLAs to support growth, scalability, and risk management; define vendor segmentation and performance scorecards; evaluate and onboard emerging vendors; develop contingency and exit plans for critical services.
- Leadership & Organizational Development : Align network initiatives with enterprise strategy, inspire teams, optimize talent, foster innovation, and drive accountability with data-driven decision-making.
Required Qualifications
Experience : 15+ years in network infrastructure and services with a track record of driving business outcomes and managing global network services at scale; minimum 7 years in executive or senior leadership roles with P&L or significant budget responsibility.Technical Expertise : Deep knowledge of data center network architecture, WAN / LAN / Wi-Fi design, multi-cloud connectivity; experience implementing network automation and orchestration to reduce manual intervention; strong understanding of zero-trust and compliance frameworks.Business & Leadership Skills : Track record of delivering measurable business impact with budgets of substantial size; exceptional vendor management and contract negotiation; executive communication with C-suite and board audiences; experience building and retaining high-performing technical teams.Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with hyperscale data center operations or tier-1 cloud providers.Expertise in SDN / NFV to enhance agility and scalability across large-scale data centers.Experience applying AI / ML for predictive network analytics and automated remediation.Financial acumen with proven EBITDA, margin expansion, or cost optimization impact.Advanced degree (MS / MBA) and industry certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Expert, or equivalent.Physical Requirements
Ability to travel domestically 20–30% to data center facilities, vendor sites, and customer locations.Comfortable with hybrid work environments including corporate offices and active data center facilities.Flexibility to manage critical incidents and strategic initiatives outside standard hours when necessary.Ability to navigate data center environments as required.Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay Range : Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $200,000 - $235,000. The actual pay range depends on experience, location, and qualifications.
