About The Position

Must-Have :

Unit accepts first-time travelers.

Locals not accepted, candidates must be over 50 miles away.

Candidate must have experience with MS / Tele and the following skills :

• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• IV insulin protocols
• Accessing ports
• Blood product administration
• Peripheral line care / management
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs
• Heparin protocols
• PCA management
• CVA and seizure disorder management
• Substance withdrawal management
• Surgical drains and chest tubes management
• External CPAP / BIPAP
• High flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Non-invasive airway management
• Tracheostomy management
• Isolation precautions
• Wound care and wound vac management

Description :

Patient ratios : 1 : 5 during the day, 1 : 6 at night.

Shifts are from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15.

Guaranteed hours are 36 or 48 per week.

Weekend requirements : Every other weekend.

The unit may require floating to corresponding sister units.

Patient diagnoses include cardiac issues, respiratory conditions, COVID-19, infectious diseases, pre and post-operative care, and endocrine conditions.

The unit is a certified stroke center.

Daily census averages 23 patients with a total of 30 beds.

Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary assistance.

Documentation system used is EPIC.

Applicants must have prior experience charting in EPIC.
