Title : Business Development Director – SATCOM RF Solutions

Location : Remote

Level : G5

Salary : $150,000 - $216,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic customer engagement, drive new business acquisition, and expand key account relationships across commercial, government, and international markets.
  • Develop and execute account plans targeting both incumbent and emerging SATCOM programs; lead or support capture strategy, proposal development, pricing, and negotiation activities for key pursuits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, product management, sales operations, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Maintain awareness of customer acquisition strategies, program funding, contracting mechanisms, and the competitive landscape.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to plan and support industry trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • Provide customer feedback to influence product development, technology roadmaps, and long-term business strategy.
  • Build, track, and report on pipeline activity using Salesforce CRM; maintain Salesforce data accuracy and relevancy; build out rolling new business pipeline in Salesforce up to 5 years in the future.
  • Ensure all key customer accounts are assigned an Account Manager and all key opportunities are assigned a Capture Manager.
  • Direct planning, research, and analysis of the organization’s objectives and long-range planning, including potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Manage assigned budgets for research and capture efforts; delegate or serve as Cost Account Manager (CAM) where appropriate.
  • Provide input to Product Management and Engineering on new product or service features to meet current and future customer needs.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of radio frequency amplifier technology, SATCOM architectures, and terminal systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD procurement processes, government contracting, and international export compliance (ITAR, EAR).
  • Proven ability to develop customer relationships, manage complex sales cycles, and close multi-million-dollar opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of business development, sales, or program capture experience in satellite communications, electronics, or related technology sectors.
  • Skills

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM; ability to master data input and reporting in Salesforce.
  • Experience with RF amplifier OEMs, systems integrators, or prime contractors in the SATCOM ecosystem.
  • Technical fluency in GaN / GaAs technology, linearization, redundancy systems, and high-frequency (Ku / Ka / Q / V-band) design.
  • Familiarity with LEO, MEO, GEO constellations and emerging multi-orbit architectures.
  • Experience with classified or sensitive programs is a plus; active Secret clearance is preferred.
