EMI Services is excited to announce an opening for an Estimator ! In this role, you'll play a critical part in determining the costs associated with delivering exceptional products or services to our customers. Your responsibilities will include evaluating material, labor, and equipment needs, as well as analyzing quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. As an Estimator, you will compare bids against specifications and drawings to ensure we have a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to successfully secure and execute projects. Additionally, you'll actively follow up with subcontractors to guarantee the timely receipt of bids. This position specifically focuses on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
Salary
$28.09 / hr.-$33.14 / hr. depending on experience and knowledge plus $14.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the drafting the project scope of work for all Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) projectsDevelop detailed Scopes of Work for various types of HVAC projectsSolicit material and labor costs from contractorsSolicit bids from Sub Contractors and vendorsReview contracts for accuracy and completeness against a proposed scope of workAssists QC Inspectors with scope interpretationsFacilitate the Pre-Construction Meetings with Subcontractors, coordinates schedules, vehicle pass and contractor pass processingLiaison with customer point of contactPerforms other related duties as assignedEssential Skills
Effective oral and written communication skillsBasic negotiation and interpersonal skillsEffective technical, interpersonal, organizational and telephone etiquette skillsKnowledge with contractual languageBasic knowledge of regulatory guidelines, particularly provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation is requiredExperience with military installation projectsTechnical knowledge and training in electrical, mechanical, HVAC / BAS control systemsKnowledge of building architectural / structural elements including; alterations and repairsMust be able to read and understand blueprintsType; operate a personal computer, with emphasis on accuracy, mental alertness, and neatnessBe adaptable and flexible in work situationsPRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipmentIncluding proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Requirements
High school diploma, GED or equivalent amounts of technical training and experience5-7 years preferred commercial and public construction estimating experience involving major projectsProficient with Microsoft OfficeIn depth knowledge and experience working in the HVAC community as a Mechanic, Estimator, or Service TechnicianValid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain onePass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkRegular, dependable attendanceUS citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installationsPreferred Qualifications
Experience with military installation projectsPhysical Requirements
