Position Summary
The Sourcing Specialist primary responsibilities will include conducting strategic sourcing activities supporting the organization's objectives for value-driven vendor partnerships and focusing on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Participates in supplier negotiations and contract preparation using structured processes. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to define material, quality, and service requirements and standards. Supports vendor partnerships and monitors performance using established KPIs, goals, and scorecards. Integrates new sources, methods, and vendors to ensure a reliable supply of materials. Review market intelligence and analysis to anticipate price fluctuations and work collaboratively with all functions of PlayPower.
Reports To : Sourcing Manager - Direct Materials
Based In : Dallas, Texas
Key Responsibilities
- Process, track, and ensure completion of sourcing activities and initiatives.
- Supports in conducting sourcing events for direct materials.
- Help to develop, document, and implement processes and systems in support of company goals.
- Work with the Business Analytics team on monthly KPI reporting.
- Executes competitive bid events (e.g., RFQ) for small to medium-sized projects, evaluates supplier bids, and provides pricing comparatives to Sourcing Manager.
- Monitors contract and pricing compliance between PlayPower and suppliers.
- Support Direct Materials Sourcing Manager needs.
- Ensure suppliers comply with all required federal, national, regional, and local laws and guidelines. Help to develop and maintain the supplier onboarding and QBR reviews.
- Manage vendor setup process in collaboration with the finance AP team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Estimated travel requirement is 10-25%.
Competencies include
Experience working in a centralized procurement organization servicing multiple businesses and multiple facilities, preferably in manufacturing.Ability to lead cross-functional and cross-business unit projects.Experience, knowledge, and competency in materials for industrial manufacturing companies.Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of price reductions from use of strategic leverage.Demonstrated success in leading Working Capital (inventory, terms) and lead time improvement initiatives with and without supply agreements.Broad Supply Chain experience to include domestic and international sourcing.Excel skills include use of pivot table, vlookup, conditional formatting, and advanced charting.Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.Qualifications include
Bachelor’s degree : degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related business discipline required3 years of related experience in sourcing / commodity management and purchasing direct materials.A proven track record of successfully implementing measurable improvement in supply chain.Key attributes include
