Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Washington, DC 20007 (DC nursing jobs)

Unit : Plastic Surgery and Limb Salvage (16-bed, all-private rooms)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : March 2, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : Night shifts, 3 x 12-hour shifts / week (19 : 00 - 07 : 00), 36 hours / week

Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend required

Float Requirement : May float to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6

Flu Vaccine : Required (no exemptions)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1590 - $1710

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active DC RN License (required at time of submission)

BLS Certification

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele or Surgical Tele nursing experience

Experience with wound care, wound vacs, and surgical drains

Proficiency with Cerner charting system

At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment if less than 4 years of experience

Flexibility to work rotating shifts (days / nights)

Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Flu vaccine required; may care for COVID-19 patients

RN Job Responsibilities

Provide high-quality post-operative care for patients undergoing complex reconstructive plastic surgery and limb salvage procedures

Manage and monitor surgical wounds, wound vacs, and surgical drains

Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, physicians, physical therapists, and pharmacists to optimize patient outcomes

Utilize Cerner for accurate and timely clinical documentation

Conduct patient assessments, administer medications, and educate patients and families

Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and maintain effective communication with the healthcare team

Float to other nursing units as needed and maintain scheduling flexibility
