The Washington State Department of Corrections is looking for a full-time, non-permanent Corrections Specialist 4 (CS4) within the Community Corrections Division (CCD). This position works for the Community Response Unit (CRU) located at 1550 4th Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134. This non-permanent appointment is expected to last about six months. This position works as a Northwest Region Community Response Unit (CRU) Specialist assigned to the USMS Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, working under Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in an official law enforcement capacity.

You will have the opportunity to employ a variety of specialized training and tactics to investigate, locate, and apprehend criminals, including fugitives and supervised individuals posing the greatest risk and concern to the community. The criminal / fugitives that garner priority for apprehension and / or criminal investigations are typically those that have a history of violence, sex offenses, are dangerously mentally ill, and / or are an imminent threat to the safety of the community.

Shift hours : Monday-Thursday, 0600-1630.
