  • ENGINEERING EXPERTISE - Collaborate with customers and internal teams to translate concepts into real solutions

Responsibilities :

The Sales Engineer reports to the Manager, Sales and Engineering and supports both new and existing customers. This is an on-site role based in Addison, IL, with up to 30% travel - primarily throughout the Midwest, with occasional visits to accounts across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

  • Identify and engage new business opportunities - Generate quoting activity from new or dormant accounts and convert opportunities into awarded programs
  • Manage programs from quote through launch - Ensure handoffs are smooth and projects remain on track, on time, and aligned with customer expectations
  • Translate customer requirements into manufacturable concepts - Review prints and 3D CAD files to assess feasibility and provide input to engineering and tooling
  • Serve as the customer's primary point of contact - Build long-term relationships through responsiveness, technical support, and clear communication
  • Collaborate on quoting strategy and feasibility - Partner with quoting and engineering teams to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive proposals
  • Support strategic growth efforts - Share market insights and customer feedback with leadership to influence targeting and business development efforts

    • Qualifications : Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 3+ years in sales, engineering, or technical program management
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as stamping, molding, or tooling
  • Ability to interpret 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Strong communication and customer relationship skills
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit

    • Preferred :

  • CRM or ERP experience for managing pipeline and customer data
  • Quoting or cost estimation experience
  • Basic understanding of pricing models, ROI, and capital justification
  • Exposure to regulated or high-volume industries like automotive, aerospace, or electronics
