Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit focused on neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (18 : 45-07 : 15), with manager scheduling Patient ratios are typically 1 : 6-7 Float required within hospital and possibly to an affiliate facility based on skill set and census Weekend commitment of 12-16 shifts per contract, with scheduling flexibility Unit utilizes Pyxis for medication, Epic for charting, and SBAR for communication 13-week minimum contract length, with options up to 26 weeks Required to participate in Storm Team and emergency events Unit orientation consists of 2 shifts after hospital-based orientation Navy scrubs are required for this assignment No more than 7 days of requested time off; none allowed during orientation week Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays as scheduled Travel pairs allowed only if working on different units Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered locals and offered a local rate Prior employees of the health system must wait 12 months before reapplying as a traveler and require rehire approval Travel clinicians in Per Diem roles at this health system are ineligible for travel assignments concurrently Completion of required online, Zoom, webinar, or in-person training modules pre-start and annually Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required by start date Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg experience BCLS and NIHSS certifications required Must pass EKG testing prior to start Epic charting experience required References : Two manager or supervisor references from within the past 12 months preferred Neuro experience preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624586.
