Setting : Outpatient Pediatric Clinic
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support both front desk operations and clinical functions in a busy outpatient pediatric clinic . The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of delivering a seamless and professional patient experience from check-in to clinical support.
Key Responsibilities :
Front Desk Duties :
- Greet all patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism and courtesy.
- Manage reception window services, data collection, and demographic updates in the EMR.
- Understand and apply CT-CVP program guidelines and vaccine regulations.
- Check-in / check-out patients, including multiple and follow-up appointments.
- Schedule appointments, print daily schedules and encounter forms, and manage medical records.
- Conduct new patient intakes, including insurance verification and benefit explanation.
Clinical Duties (with Provider) :
Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for visits.Record vitals and conduct screenings (vision / hearing).Document chief complaints and assist in chart prep for upcoming appointments.Support APRNs with sick / well visits, school / camp physicals, and paperwork.Assist with referrals, lab follow-ups, and specialist appointments.Collect and prepare lab samples (finger stick / venipuncture, urine, strep tests, etc.).Required Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED.Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.Medical Assistant Certification ( Required ).Bilingual (Spanish or other language).( PREFERRED )Experience with pediatric patients and vaccine protocols.
