Assistant Manager
The Beau Jo's Assistant Manager (AM) assists the General Manager (GM) in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This can include maintenance, appearance, customer relations, and staff. The AM is also responsible for maintaining standards for quality, service, safety, and sanitation. You are the restaurant's ambassador in the local community and will strive to encompass and understand localities for your restaurant in coordination with your GM, support departments, and your Operations Team.
Work Activities
The work activities include but are not limited to :
Recruitment / Onboarding
- Assist in interviewing, and the hire of non-managerial restaurant staff
- Ensure proper interviewing is completed and discussed with the GM to identify the best candidates for the open position
- Assist in ensuring onboarding is completed for new hires and rehires within 3 calendar days
Training
Assist in the implementation of training and train all restaurant staff on Beau Jo's Management Companies standards, best practices, and policies.Determine when new training or re-training opportunities are needed in coordination with your GM and supporting departments for yourself and the staff.Restaurant Operations
Participate in regular store meetings.Optimize profit margin by controlling costsOrder, receive, and rotate product as necessaryProcess vendor invoicesScheduling employees as delegated using ScheduleFly to ensure proper shift coverage during times of high demand and low demandEnforcing food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety and food consistencyPromoting and coordinating restaurant events and finding ways to bring in more customersHandling customer complaints or escalating (as needed)Engaging daily with customers to ascertain feedback regarding menu items and desires for future considerationsResolving staff concerns and complaints, documenting attendance, performance / behavioral, and safety concerns or escalating as neededCompleting necessary (e-)paperwork with high attention-to-detail such as sales, inventory, and staff reportsAdherence to Beau Jo's Management Company's standards, quality expectations, procedures, and safety initiativesAll other reasonable duties as assigned by the GMTools & Equipment Used

The AM will be scheduled and work a minimum of 45+ hours weekly. Each restaurant will have their own set-up and design which includes stairs, uneven flooring, and slippery conditions. Each location has at least one (1) general manager and two (2) assistant managers (depending on size), you will additionally have front of the house and back of the house employees. While occasional sitting will be required, walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. will be needed. Working hours are determined by the needs of the Company and the restaurants as well as scheduled events. You will lead by example to all staff to include your professionalism, appearance, and leadership skills.
Work Performance
The AM will be evaluated on a quarterly basis by the VP of Operations, Area Manager and General Manager. Your performance is measured on :

Upon hire, the Assistant Manager must :
Have a high school diploma or equivalent a / o a minimum of 1 year of recent restaurant management experience with proven resultsHave a valid driver's licenseUnderstand profit and loss statementsBe skilled in Microsoft Office SuiteBe accessible and available during restaurant operating hoursAfter hire or within 60 days of hire, the Assistant Manager must :
Learn Beau Jo's Management Companies policies and proceduresAbility to successfully complete 80-90% of the Management Training Checklist to include Additional TrainingComplete Training for Intervention Procedures (TiPS) and PassCOMPENSATION :
The annual salary for this role is $56,485.00 paid on a bi-weekly basis.
