Overview

A well-funded, late-stage global biotech at the intersection of AI, therapeutics, and delivery science is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead strategic growth and partnership initiatives across the US market.

Having raised over $360 million to date and approaching an IPO within the next 12–18 months , the company is pioneering the use of artificial intelligence and quantum simulation to design and optimize small molecules, biologics, and nucleic acid-based therapies .

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Business Officer , the Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for driving growth across North America, developing strategic partnerships, managing high-value collaborations, and expanding the company’s presence with global pharma and biotech partners.

You will work across both asset and platform partnerships , shaping the commercial strategy for a suite of AI-driven discovery and delivery platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development activities for platform licensing, R&D collaborations, and asset out-licensing.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key pharma, biotech, and academic partners.
  • Drive deal sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and execution across multiple therapeutic and technology modalities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, data science, and executive teams to align commercial and scientific objectives.
  • Contribute to long-term corporate strategy and value creation ahead of IPO.

Candidate Profile

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in business development, corporate development, or strategic partnerships within biotech or pharma.
  • Strong track record of executing complex BD transactions (asset, platform, or strategic partnerships).
  • Technical background (PhD or MSc preferred) in biology, chemistry, or a related discipline — ideally with early-career R&D or scientific exposure.
  • Experience working across modalities such as small molecules, biologics, RNA / mRNA, or gene therapy is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work independently and thrive in a remote, global, and fast-paced environment .
