P&ID Drafting Specialist

Johnson Service Group is actively seeking a P&ID Drafting Specialist in McDonough, GA

Pay : 38.5 per hour

Duration : 3 -6 months, with potential for extension based on project need

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven professional to take full ownership and accountability for the integrity and accuracy of the project's P&IDs. This role will serve as the primary steward of P&ID documentation, ensuring that drawings in Autodesk Plant 3D are continuously updated to reflect both existing conditions and approved future modifications. The specialist will lead ongoing edits and revisions, future as-built walk-down reviews (capturing field changes), and drive timely updates to the drawings.

A key part of this position is to host and manage a continuous BlueBeam live session, ensuring seamless collaboration, efficient reviews, and quick resolution of comments from project stakeholders. The role will also support related activities such as equipment tracking and inventory verification to maintain consistent project documentation. This effort would include on-site daily verification of inventory check-out against isometric drawings and excel tracking files, as well as problem identification and resolution with the larger technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, revise, and update P&IDs in Autodesk Plant 3D based on existing plant documentation and findings from future as-built walk-downs.
• Implement design changes identified during engineering reviews and field reviews into the project P&ID database.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and field teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect as-built conditions.
• Manage and maintain a live BlueBeam session to facilitate real-time markups and team collaboration.
• Support equipment tracking and inventory reviews, ensuring accurate and current documentation.
• Assist with other drafting or documentation tasks as assigned to meet project goals.
• Adhere to company standards, workflows, and quality assurance procedures.

Schedule : Full-time during standard business hours, with optional flexibility to adjust towards fewer hours per day, 6 days per week for the same total coverage.
