Medical Laboratory Scientist

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility based in Irving TX 75063. This is a 6 + month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Title: Technical Lab - Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Irving TX 75063

Duration: 6+ months

Shift: Different shifts 1-Mon - Fri 1pm - 9:30pm

2-Tue - Sat 2pm - 10:30pm

3-Mon - Fri 9am - 5:30pm

Pay range: $35/hr - $ 40/hr

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT)for a high-volume hospital laboratory setting. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of handling complex specimens with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and analyze laboratory specimens following approved SOPs and safety guidelines
• Review, verify, and release accurate test results, including STAT and critical values
• Maintain complete and accurate records for patient testing, quality control, and proficiency testing
• Perform and document quality control, calibrations, and equipment maintenance
• Follow all CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory compliance requirements
• Identify testing issues, take corrective action, and notify supervisors when needed
• Maintain department cleanliness and ensure reagents/kits are properly labeled and within expiration dates.

Required Knowledge:

• A solid understanding of basic laboratory testing is required for this position.
• The successful candidate must possess good computer skills and be able to adapt to working on multiple computer systems.
• Must have knowledge of QC and QA as well as knowledge of all areas of the laboratory.

Qualifications:

• BS in Medical Technology, or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology. Alternatively, previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (published on March 14, 1990).
• National and State licensure as required.

Experience:

• At least one year of clinical experience in high complexity testing is preferred. A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience is required for candidates with a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
