Job Title : Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Facility Maintenance Technician position is located in Olive Branch, MS. The role involves ensuring that all aspects of building maintenance are efficiently managed through both preventative and immediate maintenance actions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and perform minor repairs, maintenance, and improvements on facility infrastructure.
  • Conduct plumbing, welding, carpentry, sheetrock, drywall, mudding, painting, and general lighting upkeep.
  • Read, interpret, and implement work orders with precision.
  • Utilize a CMMS (work order) system effectively.
  • Communicate effectively through verbal, written, and email formats.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety in all tasks performed.
  • Troubleshoot and solve maintenance-related problems using available resources.
  • Accurately track and manage the department's inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across all departments.
  • Assess and resolve a variety of on-site maintenance issues.
  • Apply basic electrical knowledge for both interior and exterior lighting maintenance.
  • Maintain all rack and guard railings.
  • Understand basic pneumatic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Assist Conveyor Maintenance Technicians in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment.
  • Perform battery changes and preventive maintenance on forklift batteries.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Experience in facilities maintenance, painting, and drywall
  • Familiarity with plumbing and HVAC systems
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Forklift certification required
  • Mechanical aptitude for basic repairs throughout the facility
  • Experience in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Physical ability to perform continuous exertion tasks such as walking, bending, lifting (up to 65 lbs), and climbing stairs (up to 30 feet)
  • Comfortable working at heights using boom lifts, scissor lifts, and similar equipment

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a very clean distribution facility with extensive walking required across the large area. Maintenance staff will have access to motorized vehicles for transporting tools and gear. Tasks may require working at heights between 5 to 30 feet, with safety harnesses, railings, platforms, and enclosed areas available. The primary work area is temperature-controlled, while the warehouse / stock area is not. Two shift patterns are available : Sunday-Wednesday nights from 5pm-5am and Wednesday 5pm-11pm, or Wednesday-Saturday nights from 5pm-5am and Wednesday 11pm-5am.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olive Branch, Mississippi.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.10 - $24.48 / hr.
