Job Summary
The Administrative Director serves as the on-site operational leader responsible for the overall management, performance, and success of assigned departments within the healthcare system. This role carries accountability for financial outcomes, staffing, patient experience, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership for assigned departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and system initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and oversee operational frameworks that support financial stability, workforce effectiveness, and superior patient care.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitor financial performance, and hold leaders accountable for corrective action when necessary.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local healthcare laws.
- Lead change management efforts to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to ensure a consistent, high-quality patient experience across all service lines.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with physicians, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Collaborate with medical directors and nurse managers to establish protocols, care standards, and performance metrics.
- Encourage employee engagement and empower teams to innovate and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills while maintaining a professional, inclusive workplace culture.
- Stay informed of healthcare industry trends, reimbursement updates, and regulatory changes that impact operations.
- Develop and present reports, business plans, and performance updates to executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies and maintain accountability across assigned departments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years of progressive management experience in healthcare operations.Proven experience in outpatient or ambulatory care management, rural health center, or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) settings.Strong background in business planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.Demonstrated success in change management and quality improvement initiatives.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, administrators, and community members.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet operational goals.Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or related field, or enrollment in a master’s program within the first year of employment.Certification in Rural Health Center operations (preferred or expected within first year).Strategic and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving ability.Proven ability to manage budgets, optimize resources, and achieve performance targets.Skilled in building trust, teamwork, and communication across diverse teams.Customer-focused approach to healthcare delivery and community relations.Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and performance measurement.Ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor’s Degree required.Master’s Degree preferred or willingness to pursue within one year of hire.Minimum 5 years of healthcare leadership experience required.Experience in ambulatory or outpatient clinic management highly preferred.Strong exposure to financial management, quality initiatives, and compliance.Compensation and Benefits
