Role Summary

The Precision Assembler will be responsible for the preparation of assembly work and documentation. This role will assemble a variety of equipment and tools and perform test requirements. The Precision Assembler will also be responsible for disassembly, cleaning, inspecting and reassembly during any repair process. Access to modern materials and tools will be provided to ensure delivery of a high-quality product to customers. This is a weekend shift : Friday-Sunday 5am-5pm. Overtime is required when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assemblies according to drawings, instructions, and work orders, performing testing when required.
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of inspection equipment, their functions and uses to ensure all parts and assemblies are within specifications.
  • Ensure all parts and components are clean prior to assembly and that assemblies are completed properly, following all assembly procedures.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal safety equipment.
  • Operate precision measuring tools (micrometers, vernier, and CMM) in a warehouse environment, as well as hand tools (hydraulic torque wrench and fire torch).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within assembly.
  • Maintain a sharp eye for detail and a results-oriented approach.
  • Calibrate basic mathematical functions including computation of rate, ratio, and percent and convert measurements as needed.
  • Participate in CIP activities as needed and comply with Flowserve policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret documents such as blueprints and technical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and communicate clearly to peers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Demonstrate a customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality workmanship.
  • Use basic computer tools to enter data and work with Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends on short notice.
  • Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Workshop experience
  • Knowledge of automation control and electrical components
  • Experience as a mechanic for rotating machines or as a general mechanic
  • General certificate of education or vocational training
  • HS Diploma / GED or relevant experience in lieu of education
