Everest Insurance, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd., has an opportunity for an experienced claims professional to join our Claims team as a Claims Director. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to handle complex Primary and Excess Management and Professional Liability claims with respect to Financial Lines, Transactional Liability (Reps & Warranties) and / or Private Equity insurance policies.

More particularly, the ideal candidate will be able to analyze insurance coverage issues and resolve claims according to certain Best Practices and within stated authority limits relative to the Financial Lines, Transactional Liability and / or Private Equity segments.

The ideal candidate should possess the ability to handle complex financial lines claims. More particularly certain Best Practices and within stated authority limits.

Responsibilities include but not limited to :

• Reviewing and analyzing complex coverage issues and preparing coverage positions letters.
• Investigating, analyzing, and evaluating liability and damages.
• Managing and directing outside counsel; reviewing & approving legal budgets and fee statements.
• Preparing Large Claim Reports related to matters of significant reserve and trial activity.
• Timely and appropriately setting case reserves.
• Developing and executing negotiation and resolution strategies.
• Monitoring and attending trials, mediations and settlement conferences.
• Engaging with underwriting supporting policy construction and drafting, reporting claim trends, data analysis and risk assessment.
• Extensive communications with insureds, brokers, reinsurers and other business contacts.
• Attending client meetings and industry functions to support retention and development of client relationships and business.

For NY Only : The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $190,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
