Job Description : Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner - Cath Lab
Location : Blue Mountain Hospital
Reports To : Chief Nursing Officer / Rural Cardiovascular Solutions

Examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Master's degree in area of specialty, certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP), and state authority for advanced practice. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the physician and CEO.
Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Oversees and guides employees that are under his / her supervision. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE :
Education :
Graduate of an accredited school of Nurse Practitioner and completion of a Specialty course / or equivalent.
REQUIRED LICENSE / CERTIFICATION
Current CRNP license in the State of Utah. Current BLS certification. Current ACLS certification (Adult patients). Other certifications as may be required by facility, specialty or department.
Testing :
Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Primary function is to conduct clinic for cardiology services. Clinic is from 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm Monday-Friday.
Hospital rounds will be on an as needed basis during normal office hours.
Initial clinical visits, pre care, and post care if an intervention is required.
Obtains necessary medical history, discusses procedure and answers questions, and performs consents and or required information if required on the day of the procedure.
Monitor and prescribe medications (Medical management of prescriptions) as necessary for patients.
Provides education to patients and patient’s family regarding post procedure care of vascular access.
Acts as a resource for the patient to address patient concerns and questions.
Identifies and communicates patient related issues to facility management, as needed.
Completes documentation of patient information from admission to discharge in an accurate manner.
Confirm written orders, consents and lab work are completed and documented in accordance with facility policies. This includes appropriate preparation of lab requisitions; delivery to appropriate labs; reporting and forwarding of lab results to appropriate physician.
Maintains competency with all emergency operational procedures, and initiates CPR and emergency measures, as needed.
Performs point – of – care laboratory testing and in compliance with FVC, company, federal, state and local regulations.
Performs IV insertion if necessary.
Performs Venous Ablations if interested in developing a venous program.
Performs additional tasks as designated by Physician, practicing in compliance with state regulations.
PHYSICIANS :
Provides regular and effective communication with physicians on an as needed basis.
Attends and participates in Medical Board meetings as needed, assisting with meeting agenda and gathering of data / material.
Attends and participates in meetings with physicians, reporting on assigned topics.
May assist facility management in working with the physicians and staff to verify all necessary instruments and equipment.
Assists the physician in completing and reporting state required adverse event reports and reporting internally as per Company policy and procedure.
MAINTENANCE / TECHNICAL :
Operates appropriate facility equipment and technology, including but not limited to, patient monitors, defibrillators, medical recording devices, sterilizers and computers in a safe and efficient manner.
Uses the hospitals EMR for patient records and dictation.
Ensures a clean, safe and sanitary environment in the vascular access facility at all times.
Must adhere to all policies while at the hospital.
