About The Position

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Virginia. This opportunity begins on Nov 5, 2025, and spans 24 days, providing 24 / 7 call coverage with 7a-7a shifts. The role includes assisting in surgery with vein harvesting, clinic visits, rounding, and supporting the CT surgeon in the CVOR.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide first assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including vein harvesting
  • Cover call duties 24 / 7 as part of a locum tenens team
  • See patients in the clinic and round on inpatients
  • Collaborate with the CT surgeon in the CVOR during procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records using eClinicalWorks

    • Additional Information

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license required in Virginia
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Cardiac Surgery Certification - Adult (CSC) and Cardiology board certifications required
  • Experience in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, including vein harvesting, strongly preferred
