Facilities Management's Health System Physical Plant at the University of Virginia has exciting opportunities for experienced Licensed Tradespeople to fulfill an integral role in serving our UVA hospital, research areas, and related facilities, serving our patients, visitors, and healthcare providers. We are seeking multiple Licensed Trades staff to work on various shifts and schedules. The Tradesperson independently responds to all emergency calls in the Health System Complex and maintains equipment to ensure proper operation during the scheduled shift. The incumbent maintains all systems in an operational condition and provides a safe and comfortable environment. While serving in their specific trade(s), the incumbent will triage and provide initial response to a wide variety of service calls such as in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire systems, clinical engineering, pneumatic Tube System, and elevator entrapments. Successful candidates will be customer-oriented with positive communication skills, quick thinking and adaptive to resolve issues, and committed to quality in support the health and wellness of the community. In this role, you will be provided with training to assist you in gaining knowledge and experience across multiple trades. We have both part-time and full-time schedules available, roles which are benefits-eligible at a minimum of 20-hours. Evening, night, and weekend hours receive additional compensation through shift differential. The following lists the shifts available. All applicants must be willing and able to work at least one of the below, with some specifics able to be negotiated at the time of hire.

• Weeknight / Weekend Day Shift : 40-hr Work Week, Built with 2 (two) 12-hour and 2 (two) 8-hour shifts
• Saturday 7 : 00am - 7 : 00pm
• Sunday 7 : 00am - 7 : 00pm
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday 11 : 00pm - 7 : 00am (fixed, determined at time of hire OR rotating)
• Weeknight / Weekend Day Shift : 36-hr Work Week, Built with 3 (three) 12-hour shifts
• Saturday 7 : 00am - 7 : 00pm
• Sunday 7 : 00am - 7 : 00pm
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 7 : 00pm - 7 : 00am (fixed, determined at time of hire OR rotating)
• Weekend Day Shift : 24-hr Work Week, Built with 2 (two) 12-hour shifts
• Saturday 7 : 00am - 7 : 00pm
• Sunday 7 : 00am - 7 : 00pm

A sign-on bonus of $2,000 for a one-year commitment. Weeknight / Weekend Day Shift (eligible for shift and weekend pay premiums) : Duties Include :

For this position, the selected candidates will need to complete all required background checks, including a Health Screen prior to the start date. Compensation : The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $26 - $32 / hour, commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, qualifications, and credentials. Shift Differential pay rates to be included with this position (Varies per shift - $2.00 - $4.50 / hr). Employees new to UVA are eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,000 for a one-year commitment. Physical Demands : The employee must be able to variously sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands-on repetitive tasks (including overhead tasks).
