Assistant To The City Manager
Position is open until filled. First round of application reviews will begin Monday September 22, 2025. Under the general direction of the City Manager. Assistant to the City Manager to plan, direct and review various City functions as assigned. To provide highly responsible administrative assistance to the City Manager in the internal control and coordination of existing City programs. Responsibilities include providing direction to the City Manager's office staff and to other personnel as assigned.

Qualifications : Prior experience as a project analyst in a related field is required. Strong understanding of project management and data analysis. Proficient in computer technology and Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of applicable laws and standards pertaining to city government. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional research and reporting skills. Flexible to work long hours as required to meet project deadlines. Leadership skills with proven experience managing a small team. Strong analytical skills. Proficiency in mathematics and the skill to translate complex mathematical information into understandable reports. Strong oral and written communication skills. Report writing and presentation skills.
Education and Experience : Any combination of education and experience that may provide the required knowledge, abilities, and skills is qualifying. A typical way is graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree; a master's degree is preferred, and the equivalent of three (3) years of experience in one (1) or more with the following : Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), management of grants or contract, or related field, with a public agency. The ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable. Necessary Special Requirements : Possession of a valid Class C motor vehicle operator's license from the State of California.
