Title : Endoscopy Technician
Summary :
Seeking a dedicated Endoscopy Technician to support endoscopic procedures within an ambulatory care environment. This role focuses on ensuring patient safety, assisting clinicians during procedures, maintaining equipment and sterile fields, and working collaboratively with the care team. Day to Day :
Patient Safety & Care
- Support endoscopy procedures as an assistive team member.
- Protect patients from injury caused by equipment, environment, or procedure.
- Operate equipment safely and report / correct unsafe situations.
- Speak up with safety concerns and act as a patient advocate.
- Handle and label specimens according to facility policies.
- Use standard precautions and appropriate PPE.
- Perform interventions to maintain tissue perfusion and prevent infection.
- Uphold patient rights, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Provide age-appropriate and culturally competent care.
Clinical & Technical Support
Assemble, prepare, and organize supplies and equipment for procedures.Prepare sterile supplies / instruments and maintain an organized sterile field.Provide instruments and supplies to the endoscopist during procedures.Maintain and troubleshoot endoscopy instruments and accessories.Clean, disinfect, and prepare equipment for decontamination.Ensure scopes are processed correctly per policy and manufacturer guidelines.Communication & Teamwork
Give accurate and concise hand-off reports.Communicate effectively with the clinical care team.Participate in multidisciplinary planning of patient care.Engage in quality reviews, performance improvement projects, safety huddles, and team meetings.Use problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills to support positive working relationships.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Prior GI / Endoscopy Technician experience preferred.BCLS certification (current or obtained within 90 days of hire).Perks! :
