The Medical Assistant provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast-paced doctor's office. This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the Physician in all minor in office procedures.
Medical Assistant Essential Functions / Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) :
- Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures
- Record vitals, update medical history, and enter data into EMR
- Assist with in-office procedures and minor surgeries
- Perform basic podiatric care (nail and callus care, diabetic shoe fittings)
- Conduct X-rays and handle lab specimens
- Verify insurance, complete pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions
- Provide post-op follow-up calls and patient education
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam rooms
- Support overall clinic operations while ensuring HIPAA compliance
Medical Assistant Required Skills and Experience :
High School Diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year of clinical experienceCMA or RMA certification preferredStrong communication, organization, and multitasking skillsTech-savvy and proficient in Microsoft 365Ability to travel between local offices as neededMedical Assistant Physical Requirements :
