The Opportunity
We are actively seeking a Product Engineer - Aeration to join our Team at AGI. In this role, you will be responsible for the product development, improvement, and maintenance of our aeration product line. Reporting to the leader for Grain Conditioning products, you will work within a small group of engineer technologists to support the requirements of the customer and manufacturing.
Responsibilities :
Actively collaborate with the Global Product Management Team, Global Engineering Team and Regional Sales Team and participate in the development of the product strategy and road map
Responsible for product development projects and product engineering maintenance
Responsible for integrity, reliability, competitiveness of the product family, as measured by product cost, features & benefits, and market needs within the competitive landscape
Responsible for engineering development of product variants to meet the appropriate platform (seed, fertilizer, grain, feed and food) and regional market requirements
Develop application tools for chain conveyor design and quoting
Provide leadership to product engineers and designers
Develop technical and design strategy as it relates to the application of grain aeration systems
Manage required certification files (CSA) and understand compliance to applicable codes (Canadian Electrical Code, Gas Appliance standards)
Lead innovation, research and development of future products and product improvements
Develop and implement innovative ways to improve quality, reduce cost, or improve functionality and manufacturability of products.
Assume project management responsibilities for assigned projects
Work within current parametric design software (SolidWorks) and ERP system, ensure drafting standards are adhered to.
Ensure integrity of drawings, documents, and product specifications
Manage engineering change process as it relates to the department and the plant as a whole.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
5 or more years of related experience is required. Exposure to the agricultural industry is an asset
Excellent understanding of parametric CAD systems (plant uses SolidWorks)
Understanding of ANSI / ASME drafting standards is required
Working knowledge of ERP system and materials specifications
Experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling (SolidWorks and / or Inventor preferred)
Exposure to various CAE methods (FEA, CFD, MBD, etc.)
