About The Position

Title : Occupational Therapist – Outpatient

Location : Albuquerque, NM

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (08 : 00 – 17 : 00)

Job Responsibilities :

Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs for patients in an adult outpatient rehabilitation setting.

Provide therapy for patients with neuro and orthopedic diagnoses, including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and upper / lower extremity injuries.

Perform detailed assessments including cognitive, adaptive equipment, and functional capacity evaluations.

Develop and implement home exercise programs and educate patients and families on safety, adaptive strategies, and continued therapy needs.

Utilize therapeutic modalities and manual therapy techniques such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, kinesiotaping, myofascial release, splinting, and lymphedema management.

Document evaluations, plans of care, daily notes, and reassessments accurately and timely using EPIC EMR (preferred).

Collaborate with physical therapists and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize functional outcomes.

Manage a caseload of 45-minute treatment sessions and 60-minute evaluations, with scheduled documentation time.

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Experience :

Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience (outpatient or adult rehabilitation preferred).

Experience with neuro and orthopedic patient populations.

Strong knowledge of adaptive equipment, ADLs, and functional mobility training.

Familiarity with EPIC charting system preferred.

Excellent communication and patient education skills.
