Are you passionate about supporting healing and wellness through culturally rooted behavioral health care? The Kwawachee Counseling Center at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA) invites you to join our caring, community-focused team as a Co-Occurring Addictions Counselor.
We are seeking compassionate professionals dedicated to improving lives through substance use disorder (SUD) counseling, prevention education, and recovery support services. You'll work with youth, adults, families, and schools to deliver evidence-based care in a setting that honors culture, traditions, and community strengths.
What You'll Do
- Provide one-on-one, group, and family counseling using approved treatment modalities.
- Develop personalized treatment plans and conduct timely assessments and documentation.
- Deliver prevention education and outreach in tribal, school, and community settings.
- Support Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and collaborate across departments for holistic care.
- Promote long-term recovery through alumni and peer engagement activities.

Addictions Counselor I (Trainee) : SUDP-T trainee certification, enrolled in an apprenticeship program and (1) year experience providing SUD counseling servicesAddictions Counselor II : SUDP-T trainee certification, associate's degree in related field and (1) year experience providing SUD counseling servicesAddictions Counselor III : SUDP certification, bachelor's degree in related field and (2) years' experience providing SUD counseling servicesCo-Occurring Counselor I : SUDP-T trainee certification, associate-level mental health state licensure, master's degree in counseling or related field and (2) years experience providing SUD counseling servicesCo-Occurring Counselor II : Full licensure in at least one specialty (SUD or mental health) and trainee or associate-level certification / license in the other, master's degree in counseling or related field and (2) years experience providing SUD counseling servicesCo-Occurring Counselor III : SUDP certification, full mental health state licensure, master's degree in counseling or related field and (2) years experience providing SUD counseling servicesWhy PTHA?
