About the Role :

The Director of Finance & Accounting will report directly to the CEO and lead all financial operations, strategy, and compliance. This role is ideal for a CPA with strong leadership skills, a hands-on mindset, and a passion for building high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead finance, accounting, payroll, and compliance functions
Oversee financial reporting, audits, and GAAP adherence
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
Prepare board reporting packages and strategic insights
Monitor cash flow, capital planning, and risk management
Supervise tax filings, retirement plans, and lease administration
Ensure internal controls and policy compliance
Collaborate cross-functionally to support growth and profitability
Stay current on industry trends and best practices
Serve as Trustee for defined contribution plans and ensure ERISA compliance
Maintain relationships with market support and leadership teams
Support sustainability, safety, and company values

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CPA required, with public accounting experience

8+ years of progressive finance / accounting experience, including leadership roles

Strong GAAP knowledge and financial modeling expertise

Experience in retail or multi-unit operations preferred

Skilled in financial reporting, budgeting, and P&L oversight

Familiarity with federal income tax and retirement plan administration

Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

High level of discretion and confidentiality

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Dynamics Great Plains experience preferred

Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours as needed
