Minimum Requirements :

  • Degree in a related technical field (environmental / civil engineering) or equivalent experience
  • Existing experience of working in Flood Risk Management in the private or public sector (such as the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities or Internal Drainage Boards)
  • Experience of using hydraulic modelling outputs to create flood depth-damage calculations
  • Experience of costing flood risk management options and undertaking benefit-cost economic analysis
  • Ability to undertake HM Green Book compliant options appraisal and evaluation for flood risk management schemes, including use of the Multi Coloured Manual
  • Experience of using the FCERM Partnership Funding Calculator to assess GIA funding capability
  • Experience of writing flood risk management scheme business cases using the HM Treasury Five Case Model
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders, such as Risk Management Authorities, developers, contractors and landowners
  • Experience of developing partnership funding opportunities
  • Ability to produce technical and non-technical summary reports
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Chartered or working towards chartered status
  • Experience of managing and analysing large datasets and GIS / design software (e.g. MapInfo, Arc, QGIS, AutoCAD)
