Job Description

Medical Assistant

University Health Services is looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to support the medical and nursing staff in the care of the patients in health services. This position serves an important role within University Health Services as we strive to enhance the physical and psychological well being of Boston College students by providing multifaceted health care services in the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis (care for the whole person).

Clinical responsibilities include :

obtaining vital signs;

performing minor medical treatments; and

assisting with specimen collections.

Clerical responsibilities include :

assisting with scheduling of tests and appointments;

coding of clinical encounters; and

assisting in supplies and inventory management.

Each staff member in the Division of Student Affairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.

This is a 12-month full time, benefitted position; Monday – Friday (9 : 00 am -5 : 00 pm).

Hiring Range : $22.06 / hr to $27.58 / hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

3-5 years of outpatient clinical experience.

Certification is preferred.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required.

Electronic medical records experience is preferred.

Must be flexible and able to function in a busy environment.

Proven ability to work effectively with students and colleagues from a variety of backgrounds and foster a supportive environment.
