Nurse Supervisor

Supervises the nursing operations within the assigned Physician Practice. Manages patient care in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the appropriate division. Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse for a specific patient population.
• Makes daily staff work assignments based on availability of clinical staff and clinical competence of staff to ensure sufficient coverage for clinic to run efficiently.
• Will back up the Clinical Coordinator as needed.
• Supervises clinical staff, including orienting, training, conducting monthly clinical meetings, conducting competencies for clinical staff, partner with the Practice Coordinator for counseling, and evaluating.
• Interprets and communicates hospital and division nursing philosophy, policies, procedures, and established standards of care and practice. Assists in the development of department goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Maintains adequate supplies, equipment, etc. for operations of. Makes appropriate recommendations to control the operational budget.
• Participates in the unit Quality Improvement activities.
• Serves as a communication liaison between patients, families, staff, and physicians, and reports critical consequences of actions taken to Practice Coordinator.
• Complies with hospital and professional license, certification, in-service, and training requirements and committee and conference participation as appropriate for position. Maintains familiarity with nursing care issues relating to medical problems, surgical procedures, and diagnostic studies, and technical training in the use of equipment pertinent to area.
• Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee / visitor / patient injury-accident to Manager or Director.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Work Hours : 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm
