Job Title : PSNS- Sheet Metal Mechanic

Job Description

The Sheet Metal Mechanic will be responsible for the installation and construction of various ship components, including bulkheads, ceiling panels, doors, windows, and trim. The role involves working with large sheet metal pieces and other internal components of a Navy ship, adhering to Navy standards and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install and construct bulkheads, ceiling panels, doors, trim, windows, rails, and hardware.
• Assemble and install sheet metal pieces, valves, and bulkheads.
• Assist in the installation of insulation for compartment floors, ceilings, and walls.
• Work with Tac welding and large sheet-metal pieces to prepare for complete welding.
• Read and interpret blueprints for accurate assembly and installation.
• Fabricate, assemble, modify, install, and repair various sheet metal products, including ventilation systems, housings, shields, and more.
• Utilize metalworking machines and precision instruments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bremerton, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00 / hr.
