Department Manager (DM) for MANTA Systems and Hardware Engineering Department
Multi Domain Assured Navigation and Timing Applications (MANTA) is seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team. The DM in this role will be responsible for systems and hardware engineering development, program execution, and new business pursuits including proposals.
What You Will Do
- Decision-maker regarding department personnel, including staffing coordination and employee skill development to ensure the department has an acceptable skill mix of engineering discipline to support MANTA and pursuits
- Drive skill development and capability building through structured training programs, mentorship, career pathing, and performance coaching to strengthen both leadership and technical depth across teams
- Establish and scale engineering best practices in design, development, testing, and deploymentensuring consistent, efficient, and high-quality delivery across all projects
- Develop, champion, implement, and sustain engineering transformation initiatives to optimize engineering tools, workflows, and processesleveraging data and feedback to increase productivity and collaboration
- Assist in the creation and review of proposal estimates to ensure they are realistic, executable, and informed by lessons learneddriving efficiency, accuracy, and competitiveness in future bids
- Provide Engineering Leadership by leading section managers, leveraging core capabilities, and identifying opportunities for innovation across Systems and Hardware Engineering
- Measure and communicate outcomes by defining and tracking engineering performance metrics (e.g., velocity, quality, uptime, employee engagement) to demonstrate progress, drive accountability, and ensure the overall successful execution of all aspects of department activities
Qualifications You Must Have
4-6 years of experience in managing engineering or project teams significant in size (50+) either direct or indirectPossess career experience and demonstrated technical acumen in position, navigation, and timing / guidance & navigation product technologiesExperience leading a technical team of System Engineers and Analysts, system integration and test, and hardware engineersExperience interfacing and working across multi-organizational structures including internal and external organizationsExperience working with customers on technical and program alignmentExperience with the bidding process and proposal development; managing EVMS, IMS, & IMPs on many IPTs or ProgramsTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experienceActive and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start dateU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceQualifications We Prefer

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
