Job description

Location :

  • Norfolk, VA Clearance : Secret Position Type : Full-Time AERMOR is seeking a Drafter / CAD Operator IV to provide advanced drafting and computer-aided design (CAD) support in the development, modification, and illustration of complex electronic and mechanical systems.
  • The individual will work with engineers, technicians, and program staff to produce detailed technical drawings, diagrams, and visual documentation for U.S.
  • Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) systems.
  • This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and digital imaging tools to generate high-quality, accurate, and compliant engineering documentation.

This is not a remote position.  Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and modify detailed drawings, schematics, and technical illustrations for electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and other computer-aided drafting tools to develop complex design layouts, assemblies, and installations.
  • Apply digital imaging techniques to enhance design accuracy and presentation quality.

  • Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and notes to produce accurate and complete CAD models and drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure design intent and technical requirements are fully represented.
  • Maintain drawing files, version control, and documentation standards in accordance with DoD and organizational policies.
  • Plan and prepare graphic presentations, layouts, and visual aids for reports, briefings, and technical deliverables.
  • Ensure all drafted materials adhere to applicable technical standards, codes, and DoD drawing requirements.
  • Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to submission or release.
  • Support updates to existing drawings and documentation based on engineering changes or field modifications.
  • Qualifications :

  • Two (2) years of experience with a degree or formal training, or five (5) years of experience with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience drafting and illustrating in the electronics or engineering field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and computerized drafting applications.
  • Experience planning and preparing graphic presentations of complex systems or assemblies.
  • Familiarity with DoD processes, documentation standards, and configuration control procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, spatial awareness, and ability to interpret engineering data.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.   Powered by JazzHR
