Position Purpose & Summary

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the Room Attendant Position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of guest room hallways, rooms, balconies and porches to the property standards.

Essential Functions :

  • Picks up extra cleaning and guest room supplies in the Housekeeping Department.
  • Cleans assigned quota of rooms daily according to standards.
  • Always maintains a clean and neat area.
  • Replaces guest room amenities, as necessary.
  • Reports all maintenance problems to Supervisor / Engineering.
  • Keeps linen closets clean.
  • Stocks area for next day.
  • Checks vacuum bags twice a day, emptying if full.
  • Offers assistance to guests in a courteous manner.
  • Reports and delivers lost and found items to the Housekeeping Office.
  • Provides intuitive service to guests during stayover to anticipate needs.
  • Delivers items to guest rooms and closets as needed.
  • Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
  • Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Interface positively with other departments, offering assistance when needed.
  • Displays care in use of equipment and maintains an organized and professional work environment.
  • Position Requirements :

    1. Minimum Knowledge & Skills :

    Must have basic knowledge of room cleaning.

    2. Formal Education and Job-Related Experience :

    Some experience with the ABC's of housekeeping and room cleaning is beneficial but not required.

    3. License, Registration, and / or Certification Required :

    Valid Driver's License

    4. Availability

    Must have variable availability.

    1. Communications :

  • Dail y - Communicate with guests, supervisor, housemen, laundry and front desk
  • Occasionally - Participate in one-on-one coaching sessions.
  • 2. Teamwork and Collaboration : This position requires continuous teamwork as well as internal and cross-departmental communication.

    Environmental Factors :

    Environmental factors may include indoor and outdoor settings with overhead lighting and outdoor lighting. Significant portions (more than 80%) of daily assignments involve standing, bending, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling and application of manual skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity, e.g., cleaning with brushes, rags, vacuum, mop and other machine operations. May occasionally be called upon to work in all areas of the property, both inside and outside, possibly in inclement weather.
