Title : Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW / LCSW) – Emergency Room
Location : Anchorage, AK 99508
Duration : 13 Weeks
Shift : Night 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)
Job Responsibilities :
Provide psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families within the Emergency Room setting.
Complete psychosocial assessments and develop person-centered discharge plans in alignment with hospital policies and state regulations.
Deliver brief clinical interventions, including crisis intervention and safety planning.
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams including RN Case Managers, physicians, and external agencies for safe patient discharges.
Screen for suicidality and make appropriate reports of harm following state guidelines.
Assist patients and families with community resource navigation (e.g., Medicaid, housing, transportation, financial assistance).
Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Ensure proper documentation of all care coordination and interventions within the Epic charting system.
Support discharge and contingency planning for diverse patient populations across adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.
Required Information :
Experience : Minimum 1 year of acute care social work experience (2 years preferred); ER experience strongly preferred.
Licensure : Active or pending Alaska LMSW or LCSW license accepted.
Certifications : Active BLS preferred.
Charting System : Epic experience preferred.
Schedule : Every other weekend coverage required; self-scheduling.
Patient Population : Adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics.
Facility Type : Acute hospital; Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center, recognized as one of Alaska's best hospitals.
