Role Summary
The Automotive Technician will be responsible for overdelivering on the internal and external customer experience at the Toyota Proving Ground . The ideal candidate will possess the technical acumen and the ability to provide a strong level of customer service. If you're able to think quickly on your feet, have a go-getter attitude, possess great communication skills, and have a passion for adventure, then we want you on the team. You will be working with our internal partners every day to assist with service needs. This role will require a dynamic and resourceful leader with excellent oral and written communications skills, who will foster cross functional interaction and champion a culture of continuous improvement to support Service teams and customers within a Service center. To be successful in this role, you must have a customer-first approach, thrive in ambiguous and unexpected environments, tackling all challenges with a creative and flexible mindset. Experience in automotive, process standardization, continuous improvement, and managing escalations is a plus.

Responsibilities :
Diagnose and repair varied electrical and mechanical issues on complex EV vehicle systemsPerform diagnostics using combination of technical experience, diagnostic tools, and vehicle log data to root cause complicated issuesCarry out duties with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring vehicles are fully repairedEngage ownership mentality in all aspects of work, ensuring all vehicles are treated with a customer-centric focus, upholding the highest of standards in cosmetic, electrical, and mechanical repairMaintain detailed records of all work performed to ensure high quality and complaint vehicles are produced from the factoryUse first principles to collaborate, teach, and mentor other team members to constantly strengthen the organizationCreate culture of collaboration with leaders and team members, encouraging feedback and open communication between teams with the goal of constant improvement of repair tools, processes, and systemsQualifications :
HS Diploma or GED preferredGraduated from an accredited automotive repair school preferredAutomotive Technology or Technician Degree or equivalent experience2+ years of automotive service experience2+ years of EV experience preferredOEM Master Certified Technician certification or equivalent experienceOEM specific technician training is preferredMust possess a valid driver's licenseKnowledge of EV Powertrains and HV systemsStrong written and communications skillsStrong organization skills with attention to detailExperience using a variety of test tools including a PICO-scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator and breakout box is a plusBumper-to-bumper diagnosis and repair experience, including electrical diagnostics experience. High voltage systems experience preferredMust be available for a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays, according to business need.Must possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving recordExperience using a work order management system including repair documentationExhibits patience and eagerness to learnStrong organizational and time management skills along with attention to detailPhysical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting, standing, walking, bending, -kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.)Ability to read and speak fluent EnglishAbility to properly document repairs completed and in process#066890
