Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Stepdown Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 24 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Title : Registered Nurse Stepdown Location : Bronx, NY 10457 Duration : 13 Weeks Schedule : Shift : Days (12-hour shifts, 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM) Hours : 34.5 guaranteed hours per week Schedule Pattern : 3 shifts per week, including every other weekend and possible holiday rotation No call or standby requirements Job Description : Seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (PCU / Stepdown) to join the team at the Grand Concourse Campus. The RN will provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring intermediate levels of monitoring and treatment — often transitioning from intensive care to a lower-acuity setting. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in managing complex patients, interpreting telemetry, and titrating critical drips, with strong clinical judgment and teamwork abilities. Responsibilities : Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown). Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, including telemetry and vital signs. Manage and titrate various IV drips (including pressors, heparin, insulin, fentanyl, nicardipine, and precedex). Care for patients with conditions such as post-stroke, post-cardiac arrest, pneumonia, CHF, respiratory failure, and post-ICU recovery. Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members. Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Allscripts . Provide support and guidance to patients and families during recovery and transition phases. Requirements : Active RN License (New York) Minimum Experience : 1 year of ICU and / or PCU-Stepdown nursing experience Certifications : Basic Life Support ( BLS ) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ( ACLS ) Ventilator experience required BSN not required First-time travelers welcome
